Braies/Prags is idyllically located amidst meadows and forests at the centre of the “Fanes–Sennes–Prags” nature reserve within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites. But it is also just 10 minutes away from Dobbiaco/Toblach and San Candido/Innichen. The magical, fairytale Lake Braies/Lake Prags, located only 7 km away from our hotel, is the landmark of this valley where the peaks of the Dolomite Mountains tower majestically over the landscape and invite you to explore further. The stunning scenery in this area has provided the setting for popular film and TV adaptations of Rosamunde Pilcher novels that are tremendously popular in Germany and Austria.

In summer the unique Dolomite trails will tempt you up to the legendary Lake Prags, to the solitary cross on the summit of the three peaks, and to breathtaking mountain climbs and mountain bike trails.

In winter Val Pusteria/Pustertal (Upper Pusteria Valley) is transformed into a ski paradise:  Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, the Three Peaks ski area and Cortina invite you to endless days of skiing. Right on our Lake Braies hotel doorstep is the starting point of a fabulous 200km-long cross country skiing paradise. Winter hikers and snow shoeing fans will also find exactly what they are looking for.
